Financial services, football and the bigger picture.
I’m Callum Chappell, a marketing and communications professional based in North Yorkshire. My background sits primarily within financial services, where I have worked across marketing campaigns, customer communications and financial promotions.
Much of my work takes place at the point where commercial objectives, regulatory expectations and clear language meet. I’m particularly interested in how complex information can be communicated in a way that remains accurate and compliant without becoming impersonal, confusing or ineffective.
But work is only one part of the picture.
I also run The Minstermen Forum, an independent platform covering York City through news, opinion and supporter commentary. What began as a football account has developed into a wider exercise in audience-building, editorial judgement and understanding what makes people engage with a subject they care about.
Alongside that, I write and think about football, financial services, media, politics, culture and the way language shapes how ideas are understood. These interests do not always fit naturally within a conventional professional profile, which is partly why this site exists.

My background is in financial services marketing and communications, with experience across campaign delivery, customer messaging and financial promotions.
My work typically involves:
